Howard Stern now qualifies as a news show…
The FCC said the broadcasts involved included graphic discussions of masturbation and child molestation and a segment in which Stern talked about shaving his posterior.
The FCC’s latest decision didn’t go over well with Andrew Schwartzman, president of the Media Access Project, a Washington-based media watchdog group.
“Howard Stern isn’t ‘bona fide’ anything,” Schwartzman said. He said the decision “mocks that system by equating Howard Stern with Tim Russert,” host of NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
They got this label so as to not have to comply with equal time provisions in interviewing California gubernatorial candidates.
But can you even imagine if these kinds of rules applied to blogs? How would you characterize this blog? I suppose by the standards of the Stern show, it’s a news blog, but I don’t know. I’m just glad that there hasn’t been a serious push to regulate the Internet in the same way that broadcast media are regulated.

I am reaching out to Howard Stern because I am hoping he may know someone who can help us and we have been fans for years. My husband and I moved to Las Vegas from NY after 9/11. Our whole family, we picked up and moved west. My husband who is an talented, intelligent man and a Sr. project construction mgr. who has built Sothebys in NY amonth other land marks cannot for the life of him find a job out here. We own a house and we must move to CA. because if anywhere he can probably, hopefully get a job in LA. We just need someone who knows someone. For my children’s sake and for my sanity that is just about gone I am reaching out to anyone and everyone can anyone out there help?
